She is introduced as a side-story, and her interaction with Eleven contributes nothing to the overall plot. There is literally no reason for Kali to be in the show. Everything about Kali’s character, her friends, and the entire plot of the episode is, in a word, pointless. Episode 7, “The Lost Sister,” is without a doubt the worst episode of the season, focusing entirely on Eleven’s interaction with her “sister” Kali, the girl with the “8” tattoo introduced in episode 1.

The final episodes of season 2 are, unfortunately, some of the weakest, and the season ends up falling flat to a certain extent. Now join us for our review of the final three episodes of season 2 of the hit Netflix series.

In part 2, things got tense, and everything was bubbling to the surface. To provide the sense of amazement we all felt in season one.In part 1 of Stranger Things season 2, we learned that nothing is normal in Hawkins. I think that was sorta what Maxine was there for. The look of awe they had on their face when they were able to fit their largest ship inside Galactica's landing bay was a pretty great way to end the episode. The Alliance captain was basically telling them they signed their death warrant and stuff, until they saw the Galactica. They commandeered a ship and force the captain to take it to the Galactica.

To make a long story short, somehow Starbuck and Apollo figured out that alliance was way behind them militarily and they had nothing to worry about. These people talked of the alliance as being all powerful and whatnot, and Starbuck and Apollo were concerned that they might be a threat to the Galactica. And they met people who were living a modest life on the planet and were being threatened by the "Eastern Alliance" (nod to the Soviet Union). In that, Starbuck and Apollo got WAY separated from everybody else. The principle reminds me of a an episode of the really old Battlestar Galactica (weird segway I know). We were supposed to be amazed all over again through her. Without her, much of that stuff would have been old-hat for most of the characters (and by extension the audience too). She was the person who experienced everything for the first time. I think Maxine served more purpose than a love interest for Lucas.

Yeah, I know that they said they had to free Will before closing the gate or else he would die, but I was hoping that was simply the kids explaining everything using terms from dungeons and dragons, rather than how that universe actually worked. I was really hoping that when Eleven closed the gate, that the demos-dogs would revert back to their natural state (like when Will was freed from the mind flayer) and go "feral" instead of simply dropping dead. However, at times when the mind flayer was focused on other things, they (like Will) showed some freedom in their actions and decision making process, particularly the scene were Dart let the kids pass. Flash forward to season One, the demor-dogs were clearly under the control of the mind flayer and would show coordinated pack behavior such ambush tactics when directed by the mind flayer. In Season one, the demorgorgon was described as a wild animal with somewhat predictable behavior. Since I share the same criticisms that most of you have, I'm going to chime in with my own minor nitpick: Other than the episode with 8 and her band of misfit toys, I really enjoyed it. Started slow, but picked up the pace rapidly. Mike's character in general easily the least likeable character of the season The music, though good, was much less subtle than S1 Max/brother's and their family's whole backstory, or lack thereof Dustin's character development (he was the most logical of the group, even more so than Lucas' straight man role in S1 S2 saw him become annoying/illogical just for comedic effect)

The whole logic behind/background behind Hawkins Lab, Papa/Mama, the upside down I get every good season of television needs to provide as many questions as there are answers, but these answers were flimsy at best. The idea of 008/Kali and/or the implication of there being a 001-010
